Gravebound appliance bosses

Quick answer: four appliance bosses are confirmed by name — the Blender, the TV, the Jukebox and the Freezer — each with its own mechanics and attacks, plus unnamed "mechanical nightmares" still unlisted. Bosses show up on your map with a red icon.

The four confirmed bosses

BossConfirmed byWhat's known
Psychotic BlenderStore page"Take on a psychotic Blender" — footage shows a large attack animation and a weak spot players have to hunt for
The TVStore page"Survive the TV's deadly broadcast" — the broadcast itself is the mechanic (details not yet confirmed)
The JukeboxStore page"Battle the Jukebox" — mechanics not yet confirmed
The FreezerStore page + footage"Crack the Freezer" — footage shows it aggros and chases when provoked ("Did you just piss off a freezer?")

The store page also promises "even more mechanical nightmares waiting across the wasteland" — bosses beyond these four exist in the design but aren't named yet.

How to find bosses on the map

From pre-launch gameplay footage (Aztecross playing with developer CraterMan):

  • Bosses carry a red icon on the map/compass — "another boss to our north that is also got a red icon next to it."
  • A second boss type appeared with a green heart icon — what the heart marks exactly is not yet confirmed (players were still guessing in the moment).
  • Objective markers with distance readouts (GET TO: THE OVERGROWTH 1.9KM) point at event zones, not necessarily bosses.

Fighting notes that hold up

  1. Hit the weak spot. The Blender fight in footage is a weak-spot hunt — raw DPS to the body barely scratches it ("Where's his weak spot? Almost died.").
  2. Respect the big attack. Bosses have telegraphed signature attacks with their own animations; the Blender's nearly wiped a full squad.
  3. Don't kite the Freezer carelessly. Once provoked it stays on you — pull it where your squad can shoot, not through the middle of a horde.
  4. Upgrade before you engage. The same footage shows armor upgraded mid-run at a weapon station turning a squishy build into "almost a walking tank" — do that before the boss icon, not after (see loot & resources).
